Our founders Jay Cope and Chris Harrin were childhood friends who served in the Marines together before founding Semper Fi Custom Remodeling. 1. Conversation & Fit

Every project begins with a conversation focused on your goals, priorities, timeline, and budget range. This step helps determine if we’re the right fit and ensures alignment before moving forward.

We explain the process, outline next steps, and set clear expectations from the start—so nothing feels uncertain.

2. On‑Site Walkthrough & Discovery

Meeting at your home allows our team to understand the space, evaluate existing conditions, and discuss possibilities in context. This walkthrough helps identify constraints, opportunities, and early considerations that may affect scope or cost.

The same team stays involved as the project progresses, ensuring continuity as ideas turn into plans.

3. Ballpark, Design & Detailed Estimate

With a clear understanding of the project, we provide a ballpark investment range and can make adjustments to scope, design, or selections in order to get the ballpark to match your desired investment amount.

As the project moves forward, you’ll work with our in‑house design team or trusted partner to refine layouts, selections, and details.

4. Proposal, Scheduling & Communication

Once scope, design, and pricing are aligned, we review the full project proposal together and prepare for construction. Clients have a single point of contact and access to a dedicated online portal where schedules, updates, selections, and approvals are organized in one place.

This keeps communication clear and allows you to stay informed without feeling overwhelmed.

5. Construction, Walkthrough & Support

During construction, our team remains focused on quality, cleanliness, and respect for your home. Once work is complete, we conduct a final walkthrough, address remaining details, and transition into the warranty phase.

Even after the project is finished, we remain available to answer questions and provide support—because our commitment doesn’t end at completion.

Our home had some serious damage from Hurricane Helene, and we had no idea where to begin with getting things back together. From the very beginning Semper Fi helped us to navigate the insurance claim process, and worked with us step by step to get a comprehensive estimate. We couldn’t have even gotten this restoration job off the ground without them. I want to especially recognize Rich for his help with this part of the project, he was a lifesaver The beginning and planning phases of the project were great, Aaron explained exactly what the process would look like and helps us set our expectations while construction was going on. He also helped us to adjust a few areas of the project scope when a few unexpected items popped up. Once construction actually got going Eric managed everything wonderfully. He was incredibly communicative and checked in with us daily to keep us up to speed on progress and next steps. Whenever issues popped up, he used his expertise to help us address them and he did an amazing job managing subcontractors and scheduling all the phases of the project. I can’t say enough good things about his management. The quality of their work is fantastic, their communication is prompt and clear, and they are the most hands on and engaged contractors I’ve ever worked with. They truly saved our home and helped us out our lives back together after Helene. can’t thank them enough and I would recommend Semper Fi to everyone no matter what their project is!

▸How long will my remodeling project take?

The timeline of a remodeling project depends on scope, complexity, and selections, but we can give realistic ranges. A standard bathroom remodel is typically 6–8 weeks, and a typical kitchen renovation is often 8–12 weeks. For large-scale jobs like home additions, the project timeline can be 4+ months if engineering, design, and layout or structural changes are required. Your schedule is tracked and updated throughout the project, and you’ll have access to a portal where the schedule is dynamic and up-to-date.

▸Can I live in my home during the remodeling process?

Yes, in many cases you can — but it depends on your project scope and your comfort level. During construction, you should expect some combination of noise, temporary utility interruptions, and limited access to certain areas. We communicate those moments in advance so you can plan around them.

For many kitchen/bath remodels, living at home can be inconvenient, and for some phases (like floor sanding/staining or major structural work) we may recommend stepping out temporarily — but we can adapt to your specific needs for comfort and utility.

▸How are payments structured and when are invoices due?

Semper Fi uses a milestone-based 6‑draw payment structure tied to real progress. Invoice timing depends on the scope of work in the project, but typically 10% of project cost is due at signing, and 30% is due the day that construction starts. Terms and financial details will be clearly stated and agreed upon early in the process. Final payment won’t be collected until inspections and walkthrough are complete and everyone is satisfied. ▸Who will be my main point of contact, and how is communication handled?

Pre‑construction, your main point of contact is the Project Development Manager. They guide scope discussions, coordinate meetings (designer/engineer/architect as needed), and keep the front-end process organized.

Once construction begins, your main point of contact becomes your Project Manager who will remain in contact through the completion of the remodeling process. Clients also stay up to date in our client portal to track communication, schedules, selections, changes (including between the team, the homeowner, and trade partners), progress and schedule updates there.
