Our Design & Build Process
A Client‑First Path From Initial Conversation to Final Walkthrough
At Semper Fi Custom Remodeling, our goal is not only to remodel homes, but to build lasting relationships. We provide a structured, client‑first remodeling process that keeps expectations clear, decisions well‑timed, and communication consistent—from the first conversation through the end of warranty and beyond.
From kitchen remodeling and bathroom renovations to whole home renovations and home additions, we guide homeowners through a clear step‑by‑step experience across Asheville, NC, Western North Carolina, and the Greenville, SC area. Throughout the project, you’ll have access to a secure online client portal to review schedules, track progress, and stay up to date on selections and approvals in one place.
1 Start With Alignment
Conversation & Fit
Every project begins with a conversation focused on your goals, priorities, timeline, and budget range. This step helps determine if we’re the right fit and ensures alignment before moving forward.
We explain the process, outline next steps, and set clear expectations from the start—so nothing feels uncertain.
2 Understand the Space
On‑Site Walkthrough & Discovery
Meeting at your home allows our team to understand the space, evaluate existing conditions, and discuss possibilities in context. This walkthrough helps identify constraints, opportunities, and early considerations that may affect scope or cost.
The same team stays involved as the project progresses, ensuring continuity as ideas turn into plans.
3 Define the Investment
Ballpark, Design & Detailed Estimate
With a clear understanding of the project, we provide a ballpark investment range and can make adjustments to scope, design, or selections in order to get the ballpark to match your desired investment amount.
As the project moves forward, you’ll work with our in‑house design team or trusted partner to refine layouts, selections, and details.
4 Plan With Confidence
Proposal, Scheduling & Communication
Once scope, design, and pricing are aligned, we review the full project proposal together and prepare for construction. Clients have a single point of contact and access to a dedicated online portal where schedules, updates, selections, and approvals are organized in one place.
This keeps communication clear and allows you to stay informed without feeling overwhelmed.
5 Build, Close Out & Beyond
Construction, Walkthrough & Support
During construction, our team remains focused on quality, cleanliness, and respect for your home. Once work is complete, we conduct a final walkthrough, address remaining details, and transition into the warranty phase.
Even after the project is finished, we remain available to answer questions and provide support—because our commitment doesn’t end at completion.
How We Keep Your Project Organized and Transparent
Throughout your project, we use a centralized project management platform called JobTread to keep all project information, communication, and updates in one place. This allows you and our team to stay aligned as the project moves from pre‑construction through completion.
You’ll receive your personal JobTread login before construction begins. From there, JobTread supports our established process by providing visibility into progress and upcoming work, while your Project Manager remains your primary point of contact. The platform helps ensure information stays current, decisions are clearly documented, and communication is easy to reference at any point in the project. You are not expected to manage the project—JobTread simply gives you a clear, reliable way to stay informed and know what comes next.
Depending on where you are in the process, you may use JobTread to:
- Follow along with your project schedule as it updates
- Review and track selections and decision items
- See budget‑related information tied to approved scopes and selections
- Send and receive messages with the Semper Fi team
- Access project updates and key documents in one location
For convenience, JobTread can be accessed directly from the login button at the top of the page.
